Dear Choir of Hope,
This Sunday, the Psalm is really for us, the Ministers of MUSIC!
Ring out your joy to the Lord, O you just;
For praise is fitting for loyal hearts.
Give thanks to the Lord upon the Harp,
With a ten-stringed lute sing him songs.
So some Fitting Praise for the loyal hearts of Choir of Hope
1. Fitting Praise for Choir of Hope—what a fine, focused, responsive ensemble!
a. Loud or soft!
b. Fast or slow!
c. Sad or joyous!
d. High or Low
e. Each of these and so much more you sang as One Body.
THANK YOU, Excellent CHOIR OF HOPE.
2. Fitting Praise for our Soloists
a. Jerome--you were so impressive with your powerful low notes. You started us off perfectly with your dancing “Live a humble”
b. Calvalita—You really “preached” your solos with the commanding and inspiring manner of great preachers filled with the Spirit.
c. Elizabeth—so sweet, so strong, so youthful and fresh, you beautifully served the poetry of trees bending in the wind of God’s presence, of trembling souls, of the feeling of a soul in which a brass instrument sounds.
d. Daniel F—both times you moved us to tears and to joy.
e. Felicidad--a enlightening Filipino style for the spiritual
f. Mary--so movingly vulnerable and yet strong
e. And of course fitting praise for Miss Matthews!
THANK YOU. Excellent SOLOISTS
3. Fitting Praise for our instrumentalists
a. Aaron Jeffrey Honoré warm support for the choir when needed; thoughtful commentary on the text when called for; stirring call to rise up when appropriate.
b. Anne Sokol Philpott great tenderness surrounding Weepin’ Mary, great joy accompanying Standin’ in the Need, great support encouraging the altos in steal away.
c. Thomas Varas the perfect accompanist in the true sense of one who accompanies. Choir of Hope needed your vigilant attention and you gave it.
THANK YOU, Excellent Instrumentalists
Your very grateful
