Eucharist (Communion)

  • Eucharist is the source and summit of our Catholic Christian faith.  Our youngest members begin their journey to the Eucharistic table at their baptisms.  At first communion they are able to fully share in the Eucharistic banquet, receiving the Body and Blood of Christ.

The usual age for First Communion in the Roman Catholic Church is age 7, often during Grade 2.  First Eucharist will be celebrated during Sunday Masses in the Easter Season.  There will be a period of preparation for both your child and the whole family.

In the Archdiocese of Seattle, First Reconciliation is to be celebrated shortly before First Communion.  Preparation for First Reconciliation will be included in the preparation for First Communion.   Please contact the parish for more information.

(For children who aren’t baptized, or were baptized in a non-Catholic Christian Church, there is a special process.  Please contact Deanna Tighe for more information.)
