It's been a long time coming, but we finally have the Outreach blog up and running thanks to some of our very talented and tech savvy volunteers! In the next week, our posts will mostly focus on helping the reader get to know who we are as a parish committee and what we do. In the future, this will be the spot to get updates on events, as well as volunteer opportunities- not just at COH, but in our downtown community. So, please plan to visit us regularly. We are a diverse group of parishioners whose goal is to help our parish community live out our mission to be a beacon of light in downtown Seattle. We are passionate about the social mission of the church and are committed to following Pope Francis' lead to be a people of mercy, especially to those most marginalized in our society and world. Currently, we have 12 committee members plus our chair and staff liaison. They are -
Deacon Pierce Murphy (Chair)
Frances Farrell (staff)
Cynthia Brown, Obi Amabi, Daniel Fry, Crystal Lin, Cate and Gabe Lichten, Tina Arkenberg, Pete Mills, Kathy Keefe, David Ard, Oskar Zambrano, and Selena Carsiotis.
We are a fairly new committee, but are already hard at work on a very ambitious vision statement, which will become our strategic plan. Stay tuned for more about that. We meet monthly in the parish living room on a rotating schedule of Wednesdays or Sundays. Our committee oversees several other vital ministries at COH and we will do our best to keep you informed about those, as well.
Again, welcome to Christ Our Hope Outreach and Advocacy blog - I hope you will vist us frequently and if you have any questions or comments about anything you see here, please contact me at [email protected]
Peace,
Frances
