Dear Choir of Hope,
Thank you for your amazing concentration through a long and demanding rehearsal last evening. Sunday will be a moving balm and a healing anointing thanks to your commitment and focus.
I know you join me in thanking Aaron for the powerful yet sweet addition of his trumpets (all three of them). I also know you join me in thanking our Steal away soloists Jerome and Elizabeth. Finally, Please pray for soprano Joanne that she might be healed quickly so she can sing with us on Sunday.
Sunday we will once again experience the beautiful rite of the anointing of the sick. The texts we will hear on Sundayoverflow with images of God’s healing embrace:
· “Can a mother forget her infant, be without tenderness for the child of her womb? Even should she forget, I will never forget you.”
· “In God alone is my soul at rest for my hope comes from God.”
· “Look at the birds in the sky, they do not sow or reap, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not more important than they?”
Our music too must be an anointing balm, overflowing with sounds of God’s healing embrace—
Soul-filling sounds, peace-filled sounds;
Gentle and tender sounds poured generously over each person gathered in our Holy Place of Healing.
